Hackfests, developer sprints or other similar events are a great way to get things done in a Free Software project. The KDE community has a proven track record of organising successful developer and contributor sprints. In this talk I will discuss why sprints and hackfests are important for community health and give an overview of lessons learned by the KDE community. I will show you how to plan and execute a fun and effective meeting yourself, and cover everything from funding to productivity and pizza. I'm also curious to hear from the audience about their experience with successful sprints.
