Openmoko codesprint @ FSCONS 2008
The Openmoko code sprint will focus on the developement of “voj”. A tool to record, store and share your travel-routes using an Openmoko device. To allow a wide range of applications Voj will, following the example of “locations”, integrate with the OpenStreeMap infrastructure and use the freely licensed maps to graphically display the routes.
What we have:
Humanware
- 2 Openmoko developers (both python and edje experienced)
Infrastructure
- a room
- a lot of chairs and tables
- a local svn
- a local network
Hardware
- some FreeRunners to test the application/code
Software
- access to the gps data transmitted to and from the FreeRunner
the Plan
- an outline of the tool(s) to be build with lots of room for creativity and individual freedom
- UI designs as guidelines for the designs (will be published here as soon as available)
What we need

- brave, creative developers

- one laptop per developer, preferably welded together by a yearlong fruitful relationship

- enlightenment development environment up and running (on-site installation etc also possible, but self-experiment encouraged)
