By plane

Gothenburg has two international airports: Landvetter and Göteborg City Airport. Both airports have a bus connection to the city.

Buses leave every 20 min from Landvetter and the price is 80 SEK* (or 150 SEK* incl. return).

Buses to and from City Airport are organised according to the specific flights. A bus will be waiting when you arrive and a bus leaves 2 hours and 20 minutes before a specific flight from Nils Ericson Terminalen, the main bus terminal by the Central Station. The price from City Airport is 60 SEK* (or 110* SEK incl. return).

Buses from both airports arrive at Nils Ericson Terminalen, located at Drottningtorget near the Central Station. You can not pay cash, but most credit and debit cards are accepted. You can find more information on the bus compagny website : http://www.flygbussarna.se/?lang=EN.

By train or bus

There are many trains and buses coming from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. Trains are usually every hour or so. Prices start from around 400 SEK and go up. Buses are every few hours, usually take more time than the train, prices are between 200 and 340 SEK* depending on where you are coming from. The Central Station is located right next to Nils Ericson Terminalen at Drottningtorget, which is a major traffic point for trams and buses going to different parts of the city. By car

If coming on the E6 from Oslo, take exit 77 and follow the signs towards Norra Älvstranden and Lindholmen. After 2 kilometers you take a left and drive under a railroad bridge. Take the first left, and then right in the roundabout. Drive straight and you will find the IT University on your left hand side after ca 600 meters.

If coming on the 40 from Jönköping OR the E20 from Malmö, drive straight through Gothenburg towards Hisingen. Then follow signs Norra Älvstranden and Lindholmen. After 2 kilometers you take a left and drive under a railroad bridge. Take the first left, and then right in the roundabout. Drive straight and you will find the IT University on your left hand side after ca 600 meters.

Public transports

By bus Lindholmen

Lines: 16, 31

From the Central Station (Centralstationen), go to the bus stop called Nordstan and take bus number 16 direction Eketrägatan. Get off the bus at Lindholmen. The trip taks about 8 minutes.

By ferry Lindholmspiren

Lines: 180, 183

You can reach join the venue by boat. The stop is called Lindhomspiren and the ferries leave from either Lilla Bommen or Rosenlund.

There you may plan your trip (the nearest stop to the IT University is called Lindholmen, GÖTEBORG (Hållplats)), find the route network map (lines passing Lindholmen are buses 16 and 31), and find general information.

The best-value for public transportation for a week-end stay in Gothenburg, is to purchase either a 3-day travel pass (130 SEK* for unlimited travel within Gothenburg city) or a 5 trip card for 83 SEK* (ticket information in Swedish). Please note that this card does not include the airport buses. Tickets are sold by Tidpunkten (Göteborg train central, and Nils Ericson bus terminal) and also the Pressbyrån & 7-Eleven shops.
